This collection brings together fabrics that make use of materials, dyes and finishing techniques handed down in Japan. It centres on linen and cotton woven with washi paper yarn, dyeing with kakishibu persimmon, binchotan charcoal and sumi ink, natural-indigo rope-dyed denim, sashiko, and the Azuma-daki and Kotohira-daki finishes.
Washi yarn suits fabrics where you want a crisp, dry feel and the character of paper. For kakishibu dyeing, look at its brownish tones, distinctive crispness and how it changes with age. Choose sashiko for its raised patterns made with thick yarn and its sturdy hand. Fabrics with natural dyes and handwork vary from lot to lot, so check samples and lead times before bulk production. In customer reviews, buyers mention the solid thickness of the sashiko fabric and the colour of the indigo dyeing.

QCan I place an order for fabric without any joins?
Cut-to-order quantities are possible, but for orders of 5 m or more, piece breaks may occur.
If there is a piece break in a cut order, we cut it a little longer.
Also, even for rolls, there may be piece breaks, so please place your order with some extra allowance (loss).
QI ordered the fabric by roll, but isn’t the quantity the same as what I ordered?
When you order fabric by roll, it is usually arranged as an estimated roll, so the quantity may be slightly above or below the quantity you ordered.
Therefore, if we need to change the quantity from what you ordered, we will notify you of the updated quantity by email each time.
If the quantity is greater, we will request additional payment for the difference; if the quantity is less, we will refund the difference within a few days after shipment is completed.
QI would like the test data for the fabric.
support page, or please include it in the remarks field when placing your order. We will check with the manufacturer.
QThe color of the sample card swatch and the actual fabric I ordered differ. Can it be exchanged?
There may be slight differences depending on the fiber material, and fiber products can vary in color from lot to lot. For that reason, we cannot offer an exchange for slight variations, but if the color difference is significant, we will consult with the manufacturer and arrange an exchange or other appropriate response.
QI would like hang tags and woven labels for fabric with a trademark.
Regarding hang tags and woven labels, if the manufacturer selling them is different, the prices, terms, etc. will also differ. If you order the fabric, we can arrange it from as little as one piece. In principle, hang tags are often available, but woven labels may not be, so when ordering the fabric, please let us know the fabric product number and the number of hang tags/woven labels, etc.
