This is a striped tie with a luxurious feel, offering a different look from the black-based striped ties often worn with morning dress. It is a Nishijin-ori silk formal tie, carefully woven on a traditional low-speed loom by a long-established Kyoto weaver. By using an elaborate weaving technique that leaves some slack in the weft, the fabric has a soft fullness and a sense of thickness on the surface. The black sections have excellent firmness, and by using a generous amount of deep black satin, the beauty of the black stands out.
