WALDES® Vintage Zipper Nickel Silver Size 8 Cotton Tape Chain

This is the chain type of WALDES® vintage zipper.
The element color is nickel silver.
A carefully made product that faithfully reproduces the manufacturing methods and materials of the time, focusing on zippers from the 1930s to 1950s.
Using one of the oldest manufacturing methods in zipper history, it uses nonferrous metals such as aluminum (AL), tombac (G), and nickel silver (N) for the element material.
The press-formed elements have a substantial feel, and since no plating is applied, they have a unique atmosphere that lets you enjoy the aging of the material itself.

About WALDES®
It is a historic zipper brand that existed in America in the 1930s.
As the times changed, the brand faded into obscurity and became free to use, and we acquired the trademark rights to revive it as a vintage zipper.

1. We faithfully reproduce the manufacturing methods and standards of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
① The tape is woven with 100% cotton yarn on traditional power looms. The weft is tightly packed to create a strong tape.
② The cord is separately twisted from 100% cotton yarn and carefully sewn onto the tape.
③ The slider, open-end hardware, and stop hardware reproduce the shapes and feel of the time.

2. Characteristics of WALDES Zipper
① No plating is applied to the elements. As a result, the zipper will age together with leather and denim.
Therefore, it creates a distinctive vintage feel not found in other brands.
② There are many specification options such as sliders, open-end hardware, and stop hardware, making it possible to choose accessories that suit the product without compromise.
③ Cotton in particular has a unique texture and material feel, making it an environmentally friendly product.
④ The material feel of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s suits modern vintage fashion.
⑤ We accommodate small lots, a wide variety of items, and short lead times.
⑥ Samples can be handled quickly from one piece, and for full production as well, we will respond with short lead times after consultation with the customer.
⑧ Cotton tape can be made in custom colors (available from 60 m), and original pull tabs, engraving, and more are also available.

3. Important points about the product
① Compared with polyester, cotton tape is inferior in friction resistance, tensile strength, and colorfastness. In addition, the product dimensions may shrink depending on the environment and conditions.
② Cotton tape has a fastness grade of 3 or lower. Care is required because processing, washing, friction, sweat, and color transfer or fading due to light can easily occur.
③ Cotton tape may vary slightly in color depending on the dye lot.
④ Due to the shape of the elements, metal zippers may have different slider movement at the top and bottom for two way open-end specifications and similar designs.
⑤ AG and BK specifications for the elements are not plated, but are specially treated with chemicals. During sewing, the color of the elements may transfer to the fabric. In addition, the surface may change due to friction or post-processing.
