Hello.
I’m mammy from the ApparelX trend blog.
Recently, we’ve been seeing more and more high-function textiles with extra features.
This time, I’d like to introduce one of those high-function textiles: “SOLOTEX.”
SOLOTEX is a fiber for apparel developed by TEIJIN FRONTIER CO., LTD.
It uses a special polyester material called PTT (polytrimethylene terephthalate).
SOLOTEX has a spring-like helical molecular structure unlike ordinary polyester, and that structure is the key to its functionality.
The smooth feel of SOLOTEX knit is said to surpass even high-end materials like cashmere.
Textiles made with SOLOTEX are also extremely soft and smooth to the touch.
It blends well with natural materials, so it can bring out their qualities without compromising their texture.
Its unique spring-like helical molecular structure gives it high shape stability and recovery.
As a result, even after repeated washing or folding, it is less likely to wrinkle, allowing you to wear items without worrying about creases.
It also helps prevent loss of shape, so a beautiful silhouette can be maintained for a long time.
Due to the “spring-like helical molecular structure” mentioned above, SOLOTEX has high stretchability not only in the vertical and horizontal directions but also diagonally.
As a result, even closely fitting items feel less restrictive and stretch and recover freely in response to movement.
SOLOTEX can be mixed with other fibers to make use of their color and texture.
It blends naturally with natural materials while adding new functionality, making it possible to differentiate it from conventional textile materials.
It is astonishingly soft, with cushioning that is as soft and supple as a marshmallow.
Even after repeated compression, it resists collapsing, and its fluffy volume quickly returns.
It also has excellent durability, so its texture lasts a long time. For this reason, it is also used as material for pillow, futon, and coat quilt batting.
Although SOLOTEX is a polyester, it can achieve rich, vivid colors.
It is also highly resistant to fading, so it can maintain elegant, highly fashionable colors for a long time, which is why it has been widely adopted by long-established outdoor brands and select shops.
Some of the polymers that make up SOLOTEX use plant-derived raw materials.
It helps reduce the consumption of limited resources and also contributes to lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
It is a material that can be used for apparel products with the future in mind.
Next, we will introduce some SOLOTEX® textiles listed on ApparelX.

This is a sustainable textile combining SOLOTEX®, which uses some plant-derived raw materials, and ECOPET®, made from used plastic bottles. Because it uses the supple texture of SOLOTEX® and 40MVS-spun yarn ECOPET®, it has a dry cotton-like touch, light stretch, and good wash-and-wear performance, making it a slightly lightweight twill material.

A comfortable material made with SOLOTEX that has supple stretch and stretches both vertically and horizontally.
It is slightly lightweight, and the uneven look unique to seersucker gives it a cool, refreshing impression. Made of 100% polyester, it is less prone to wrinkling and offers excellent easy care at home. Because it is a seersucker material, it does not cling to the skin, making it a good choice for the hot season ahead.

Made with SOLOTEX®, which has supple, softly resilient cushioning, this material is characterized by a matte, well-balanced melange look and a dry texture.
It is stretchy and easy to care for, making it a utility material ideal for everyday use.

A twill fabric using taslan polyester for the warp thread and TSOLOTEX for the weft thread. This material is characterized by the stretch of SOLOTEX, along with a delicate crinkled texture and fullness created by the vintage finish. Taslan processing is a special process that gives synthetic fibers a touch like natural fibers.

Twill stretch using fully dull yarn for the warp thread and supple, stretchy SOLOTEX for the weft thread.
It is slightly lightweight with firmness and body, and although it is polyester, it has a natural-looking matte surface that is characteristic of the material.
It can be used widely for casual items.
What did you think?
There are many textiles made with SOLOTEX, from woven fabrics to knits, and their texture and other qualities vary depending on the type of textile, showing a wide range of expressions.
SOLOTEX adds an extra layer of value to the item you want to create.
Please consider it.
