I'm mammy from the ApparelX trend blog.
This time, I'd like to introduce TOPRUN KIKAKU CO., LTD., which handles many textiles with especially high strength for bags.
We also have videos of actual textile strength tests, so I hope you'll watch until the end.
TOPRUN KIKAKU CO., LTD. is headquartered in Tokyo and also has branches in Osaka and Nagoya.
It is a long-established bag materials manufacturer celebrating its 98th anniversary this year.
It handles many textiles used for bags, including nylon, synthetic leather, and genuine leather, and in addition to textile sales, it also handles OEM production.
As textiles for bags, it particularly excels in highly durable, high-performance textiles, offering many textiles focused on strength and light weight.
Recommended products from TOPRUN KIKAKU CO., LTD.
Now, let me introduce TOPRUN's carefully selected textiles right away.
Ballista Nylon is made from nylon with extremely high durability, using the "ultra-strong 66 nylon" originally adopted for bulletproof vests as its raw material.
The thread is woven in Fukui by TORAY and dyed at a dyeing factory in Osaka, making this a truly Japanese-made textile.
It boasts about six times the tear strength of ordinary nylon.
This is because Ballista Nylon uses ultra-thick 2520D thread, compared with common nylon at around 210D to 1000D.
It is probably made with the thickest nylon used in Japan.
This is an ultra-functional textile with excellent abrasion resistance, puncture resistance, heat resistance, and water resistance.
Heat resistance: It also has high heat resistance and is highly resistant to temporary heat; there is data showing it withstood heat of about 800°C for 30 seconds in a cigarette press test.
Stiffness and body: Because it is tightly woven, the textile itself has a distinctive firmness and body, and when used for bags and similar items, it offers strong self-standing structure and resists losing its shape.
Recommended uses
Business bags / backpacks: Bags that require durability, such as business bags that must withstand hard daily use and backpacks for mountain climbing or outdoor activities.
Military items: Military equipment and similar items that require high durability.
Outdoor goods: Outdoor products used in harsh environments, such as tents and chairs.
Thanks to its outstanding functionality and durability, Ballista Nylon is highly recommended as a material for products you'll use for years!

"CORDURA Ballistic" is one of the materials in the "CORDURA®" brand developed by the American global textile manufacturer INVISTA, and it is a 1680-denier nylon textile with especially high strength.
It uses a special high-strength 6,6 nylon (Nylon 66) thread developed by INVISTA, and because the thread itself has high strength, it dramatically improves the durability of the entire textile.
Excellent durability from "ballistic weave": The word "ballistic" means "trajectory" and originally refers to a fabric weave in which two ultra-thick threads, originally used in bulletproof vests, are paired and woven into plain weave (basket weave).
Compared with ordinary nylon, it has dramatically higher resistance to friction and tearing, making it an extremely tough material. It boasts toughness that can withstand harsh use environments.
Recommended uses
Business bags / backpacks
Military items: Military equipment and tactical gear requiring similarly high durability.
Outdoor goods: Outdoor products used in harsh environments such as tents, tarps, and camping gear.
Other: Used in all kinds of products that require high durability, such as apparel products like shoes and outerwear, as well as workwear.

We also have a textile made from the same material with a PVC coating on the back, so please be sure to check that one out as well.

"DURON®" is a polyurethane material characterized by high durability, and it is especially notable for being made using an environmentally conscious manufacturing method.
It was developed to overcome the weaknesses of ordinary polyurethane materials and to last longer.
Main features of DURON®
1. High durability
Scratch-resistant: It is resistant to scratches on the surface. It is said to be extremely resistant to friction and scratching compared with ordinary synthetic leather.
2. Hydrolysis resistance
It is treated to suppress hydrolysis, which is a weakness of polyurethane materials, making it resistant to deterioration over time.
3. High strength
It boasts overwhelming strength compared with ordinary polyurethane materials.
4. Water resistance / waterproofness
With a rubber-like texture, it has high water resistance, and some products are also waterproof.
5. Environmentally conscious material
VOC reduction: A new manufacturing method greatly reduces VOCs (volatile organic compounds) emitted during production by about 95%.
6. Texture and design appeal
Matte, rubber-like texture: The surface is matte, with a distinctive smooth, rubber-like feel.
Recommended uses
Bags / accessories: Bags such as business bags, backpacks, tote bags, and shoulder bags, as well as accessories like wallets.
It is especially suitable for products that need to be tough for everyday use.

We conducted a serious test aimed at scratching the surface, so please check the video to see the surprising result!
"CORDURA Spectra ripstop" is a highly functional textile that combines "CORDURA nylon," known as a durable material, with "Spectra®," an extremely strong fiber.
CORDURA nylon: A nylon material that is extremely resistant to friction, tearing, and abrasion.
Spectra® fiber: An ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fiber developed by the U.S. company Honeywell, known for being extremely lightweight while also offering excellent cut resistance to the extent that it is said to have about 15 times the strength of steel.
By combining these two materials, it achieves extremely high tear strength and abrasion resistance while remaining lightweight.
In particular, Spectra fiber is woven in a grid pattern (ripstop structure), which helps prevent a tear from spreading further even if the textile is torn.
Recommended uses
Outdoor gear such as backpacks, rucksacks, and sacoches
Accessories such as wallets and multi-cases
Apparel and camping items such as tents and jackets
It is the perfect textile if you want durability and also want something lightweight!
