Hello, I’m Hirama, a returnee from overseas!

Lately, orders and sample card requests for denim from customers in the U.S. have been increasing!

Of course, when you think of Japanese denim, Kurashiki City in Okayama Prefecture comes to mind. I’m glad that people are interested in Japanese denim even though denim is also produced in the USA.

You can see Japanese denim on ApparelX (here), but this time I’ll introduce trends and American denim companies.

Western Classic(ウェスタン・クラシック)

When you think of America and denim, don’t you think of cowboys?

As workwear, durable denim is needed.

With the casual feel and oversized trend, I think it will emerge for apparel.

Quiet Luxury (クワイエット・ラグジュアリー)

Quiet Luxury has started to emerge over the past one to two years.

Quiet Luxury emphasizes understated elegance and refined consumption, exclusivity and discerning taste without ostentatious displays of wealth.

It has a fit and tailored feel that fits your body perfectly. Regardless of the weight of the fabric, it is high-quality denim with character.

It seems these two trends will gradually continue to grow. Denim is highly versatile, and you can enjoy a wide range of weights, looks, and comfort. Please keep an eye on denim trends for the coming seasons as well!

Companies

In America, there is the Cotton Belt, where cotton is produced.

There are many historically important points about the Cotton Belt, but I wanted to introduce it so that it is a little easier to understand how these denim mills got started.

Cone Denim (est. 1891)

Greensboro, North Carolina (East Coast)

Cone Denim blurs the line between casual and elegant with its “Luxe For Life” collection, which pursues a luxury yet unpretentious feel. Fabrics with Tencel blends, a firmer hand, and stretch materials offer a premium touch without sacrificing comfort or simplicity. Western styles may be on trend, but for Cone Denim, they have long been part of its tradition. The “Overtime” collection embodies the brand’s history with fabrics designed to withstand harsh use on ranches.

LEVI'S 501 denim used Cone Denim fabric. Since 2011, it has been working on sustainability initiatives and putting effort into eco denim and traceability.

There are also denim manufacturers in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.

Vidalia is a rapidly growing denim manufacturer.

That’s all for this blog. I hope it was helpful.

Thank you for reading!
