VANCET Exhibition Report

I went to the exhibition held by Sojitz Fashion Co., Ltd. on October 17 and 18.

There were many finished products on display, so it was easy to see the firmness and drape of the textiles, and I think it was easy to imagine the final product as well.

At this textile exhibition for 2020 SS, there were many colorful textiles with a strong trend feel.

Speaking of trends, “sustainable” items are getting attention.

There were many textiles made with recycled fibers and plant-based, environmentally friendly textiles.

Among them, there was one made with special attention to the fiber itself.

As shown in this diagram, recycled polyester with cotton blended in is wrapped around recycled polyester, so it is almost a recycled polyester yarn, but because cotton is used on the surface, the texture of the textile was soft like cotton.

Because it combines the advantages of cotton and polyester, it is highly functional as well. It has excellent water absorbency, quick-drying properties, and dimensional stability.

As shown in the photo above, it is also divided into three types in weaving, and I thought it would likely be used in a wide range of applications.

And for spring and summer, linen materials are a must.

There were many linen materials on display at the exhibition.

This is a textile made with synthetic fibers that has a linen-like texture.

Recently, the emphasis on only natural materials has been weakening, and linen-like and cotton-like items made with polyester and other materials have started to sell well.

Linen is especially expensive and difficult to handle, so more affordable linen-like items that are less likely to wrinkle are becoming more widespread.

The texture was soft and glossy, no less than linen, with an elegant feel.

By going to this exhibition, I was able to get a grasp of the 2020 SS trends.

I would like to add sustainable materials, linen, sheer materials, and more to ApparelX products!
