Hello. I’m Hirama from the ApparelX Sustainable Team.

This time, I’d like to introduce Oharayaseni’s FOOD TEXTILE!

What is FOOD TEXTILE?

FOOD TEXTILE is a sustainable project that extracts dyes from ingredients and vegetables that food companies were planning to discard, and uses those dyes to color textiles and products.

Ingredients are purchased from food manufacturers, restaurants, farms, and more across Japan, and dyes are developed using proprietary technology.

By using them to dye thread and textiles, ingredients that would have been discarded are reborn as part of fashion.

For the dyeing process, more than 90% is natural dye. By minimizing the use of chemical dyes, the project is environmentally conscious while achieving soft, gentle colors.

The natural yet deep colors can be used for a wide variety of items, including casual wear, miscellaneous goods, and lifestyle products.
