This is Fukunobu from the ApparelX OEM blog.

At ApparelX, which handles a wide range of Japanese textiles and trim materials, we not only sell materials but also provide OEM production of apparel products.
In this post, we introduce an OEM case study for an original polo shirt produced at a domestic sewing factory using textiles and trim materials available from ApparelX.

OEM production of an original polo shirt

This order was for the production of an original polo shirt.
The customer provided us with materials summarizing the basic specifications, the pattern, and the brand name.

Based on those materials, we created samples while checking the specifications, size, textile, and trim materials, then finalized the specifications before moving on to mass production.
When people hear OEM production, they may think a fully detailed specification sheet is required, but depending on the project, it is also possible to proceed by confirming the details based on a simple spec sheet, patterns, and reference materials, as in this case.

At ApparelX OEM, we work with domestic sewing factories and partners in Japan to bring products to life.
We also handle OEM inquiries not only from customers in Japan but also from overseas.

Textile used: "Mt.Breath Wool® Stretch"

Here is the textile used for this polo shirt.

Made from 53% wool and 47% polyester, it combines a soft touch with functionality. In addition to moisture absorption and quick-drying performance, it also offers excellent rebound and anti-pilling properties, making it a material with the refined texture unique to wool. Its defining feature is a delicate, soft look that differs slightly from typical polo shirt materials.
At ApparelX, we do not just sell textiles themselves; as in this case, we can also produce finished products through OEM using the textiles listed on our site.
We also welcome inquiries such as, "I want to make a product using this textile."

Using a Morito resin hook on the front placket

For the front placket, we used the PZ-10 resin hook PLASMA10 from Morito.

The lightweight, clean look that is unique to resin hooks made it a great match for the textile used this time.

At ApparelX, we handle not only textiles but also a wide range of trim materials needed for apparel products, including buttons, hooks, zippers, tapes, linings, and interlinings.
That means we can select the textile and trim materials separately and move forward with OEM production while visualizing the product as a whole.

Choosing the right factory to achieve the desired sewing specifications

Beautifully finishing delicate materials through domestic sewing Mt.Breath Wool® Stretch, used this time, is a soft and delicate material, so the finish of the actual product was also an important point. Production was carried out at a sewing factory in Japan. When we checked the finished product, it had been completed very neatly overall without compromising the soft texture of the textile.

As shown in the images, three-needle stitching is used in each sewn section, such as the armholes, hem, cuffs, and side seams. It not only adds a visual accent, but also contributes to strength and stability when worn. In addition, to faithfully realize these detailed specifications and each customer's specific preferences, ApparelX OEM carefully selects factories according to the product characteristics and the required finish. By choosing a production background suited to the material and specifications, we aim to create products as close as possible to the intended image.

This case study shows how the textiles and trim materials handled by ApparelX come together in an actual product.
As we move from samples to mass production, we make adjustments to match the final product specifications, such as changing the brand name specification or adding a size name.

Being able to consult on materials, trim materials, sewing, and labels is another feature of ApparelX OEM.

For those considering OEM/ODM made in Japan At ApparelX OEM, you can consult us about domestic production of a wide variety of items, including polo shirts, shirts, T-shirts, cut-and-sew items, jackets, pants, and coats.
