Ordering from South Korea

Delivery to South Korea
You can choose from the following delivery methods for addresses in South Korea. The delivery fee is shown at checkout before you place your order.
  • DHL (International Standard Delivery): arrives in about 2–3 days after dispatch. This is the method we recommend.
  • SF Express (International Economy Delivery): arrives in about 5–7 days after dispatch, at a lower fee.
  • ECMS (International Small Packet): arrives in about 7–10 days after dispatch, at the lowest fee. Available only for sample cards and parcels under 2.0 kg, and shown at checkout only when your order is eligible.
  • Combined delivery: ships together with your earlier order to save the delivery fee. Shipping may take longer.
  • Your own delivery account: if you have your own carrier account (for example, DHL), we can ship with it and charge no delivery fee. A handling fee of JPY 2,000 applies for export procedures such as the invoice, packing list, and export packing. To use it, send us the carrier name and account number through the support page; we enable it after checking.
Delivery times are counted from the day we dispatch your parcel and do not include customs clearance. For more about each method, see Delivery.
Prices and taxes on ApparelX
  • When you are logged in, prices are shown in your account currency. For accounts in South Korea, this is usually Korean won (KRW). To see how we convert prices from Japanese yen, see Currency and Exchange Rates.
  • Japanese consumption tax is not charged on orders delivered to South Korea.
  • We do not collect Korean import VAT or customs duty, and our prices do not include them. We also do not carry out customs clearance in Korea for you.
Customs clearance in Korea
We send orders to South Korea on DAP (Delivered at Place) terms. After your parcel arrives in Korea, the customs team of the carrier (DHL, SF Express, or ECMS) contacts you by email, text message, or KakaoTalk. Please follow their instructions to clear customs and pay any import VAT and customs duty.
We do not know the exact amount of duty and tax for your order. If you need an estimate, please ask the carrier or a customs broker. What you need for customs clearance depends on the carrier:
  • DHL: to clear customs as a business import, you need your business registration number (사업자등록번호). If you have a copy of your business registration certificate, please send it to us as well. Without the number, your parcel is cleared as a personal import.
  • SF Express: the customs team often contacts you directly. To clear customs as a business import, your business information has to be registered with SF Express, so you need your business registration number and a copy of your business registration certificate. Shipments over US$150 automatically go through formal import clearance, and this cannot be changed. The delivery fee is included in the value on which duty and tax are calculated.
  • ECMS (International Small Packet): your personal customs clearance code (PCCC, 개인통관고유부호) or business registration number (사업자등록번호) is required. The customs team contacts you directly on KakaoTalk, so please enter a mobile phone number that is linked to your KakaoTalk account.
Your shipping address and phone number
  • Enter the address, company name, and recipient name in English.
  • Enter your company's real name and the recipient's real full name.
  • Enter a mobile phone number linked to your KakaoTalk account, such as one starting with 010. The customs team contacts you by text message or KakaoTalk, and ECMS cannot use a landline number.
  • Enter your postal code.
If your email address or phone number is wrong, the customs team cannot reach you and delivery may be delayed.
Customs duty and certificates of origin (RCEP)
South Korea and Japan are both members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). With a certificate of origin, some products made in Japan can be imported with reduced or no customs duty.
Unfortunately, we are not registered to issue certificates of origin, and many manufacturers are not either. In most cases, we cannot provide one.
Without a certificate of origin, customs duty applies to shipments over US$150. For shipments of US$150 or less, duty generally does not apply to personal imports, but it does apply if you clear customs as a business import.
