Ordering from the EU

Delivery to EU countries
You can choose from the following delivery methods for addresses in EU member states. The delivery fee is shown at checkout before you place your order.
  • DHL (International Standard Delivery): arrives in about 2–5 days after dispatch. This is the method we recommend.
  • EMS (International Economy Delivery): arrives in about 7–21 days after dispatch, at a lower fee. Available for some EU countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Ireland, when your order weighs 14 kg or less.
  • Combined delivery: ships together with your earlier order to save the delivery fee. Shipping may take longer.
  • Your own delivery account: if you have your own carrier account (for example, DHL), we can ship with it and charge no delivery fee. A handling fee of JPY 2,000 applies for export procedures such as the invoice, packing list, and export packing. To use it, send us the carrier name and account number through the support page; we enable it after checking.
Delivery times are counted from the day we dispatch your parcel and do not include customs clearance. For more about each method, see Delivery.
Prices and taxes on ApparelX
  • When you are logged in, prices are shown in your account currency. For accounts in euro countries, this is usually euros (EUR). To see how we convert prices from Japanese yen, see Currency and Exchange Rates.
  • Japanese consumption tax is not charged on orders delivered to the EU.
  • We are not registered for VAT in the EU and do not use the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS). We do not charge EU VAT, and our invoices do not show EU VAT.
Import VAT and customs duty
We send orders to the EU on DAP (Delivered at Place) terms. This means that you, as the importer, pay import VAT on every order, whatever its value, and any customs duty and customs fees.
The carrier (DHL, or the postal service for EMS) will ask you to pay these before or at delivery and may add its own handling fee. Please pay them so that your parcel can be delivered.
As a rough guide, EU customs duty on our products is about 0–15% of the value of the goods, depending on the product. This rate is only an estimate and may change. VAT rates depend on the country.
If your business is registered for VAT, you can usually deduct the import VAT you paid. For details, please check with your tax office or accountant.
Your EORI number
For customs clearance in the EU, businesses need an EORI number. Please have it ready, and give it to DHL or the customs authority if asked.
Customs duty on products made in Japan
Some of our products are made in Japan and may qualify for a reduced or zero rate of duty under the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) when the invoice includes a statement on origin.
We can provide a statement on origin for some products only. If you need one, please contact us before you place your order and tell us the product codes. We will let you know whether it is available.
