Currency and Exchange Rates

All product prices and delivery fees on ApparelX are set in Japanese yen (JPY). If your account currency is not JPY, we convert them into your account currency and show the converted amounts throughout the site, in the cart, and at checkout. If your account currency is JPY, no conversion is made.

You can pay in the following currencies: Japanese yen (JPY), US dollar (USD), euro (EUR), British pound (GBP), Chinese yuan (CNY), Hong Kong dollar (HKD), New Taiwan dollar (TWD), South Korean won (KRW), and Vietnamese dong (VND). To check or change your currency, see Ordering from Outside Japan.

• We use the market exchange rate (the mid-market rate) provided by an external exchange rate data service. It is not the buying or selling rate of a particular bank.
• We do not add any exchange fee or margin to the rate. You pay the converted price only.
• The rate is updated once a day at about 2:00 AM Japan time (JST, UTC+9). The same rate is used for the whole day until the next update.
• Because foreign exchange markets are closed on weekends, the rate changes little from Saturday to Monday.

Because the rate changes every day, the price of the same product in your currency may be slightly different from day to day, even though the price in Japanese yen has not changed.

We convert the unit price of each product into your currency and round it up to the smallest unit of the currency. The amount for each item is the converted unit price multiplied by the quantity.

USD, EUR, GBP, CNY, HKD, TWD	Rounded up to 2 decimal places (for example, USD 0.01)
KRW	Rounded up to the nearest 10 won
VND	Rounded up to the nearest 100 dong

Example: a product priced at JPY 1,250, when the rate is JPY 1 = USD 0.006734 (the rate here is only an example)

1. Unit price: 1,250 × 0.006734 = 8.4175, rounded up to USD 8.42
2. 10 units: USD 8.42 × 10 = USD 84.20

Delivery fees are also converted from Japanese yen at the same rate and rounded in the same way. Coupons with a fixed discount amount are converted into your currency in the same way, and percentage discounts are calculated on the amounts in your currency. Japanese consumption tax is not charged on orders delivered outside Japan.

Until you place your order, the prices in your cart and at checkout are calculated with the latest rate. If the rate is updated before you place your order, the amounts may change slightly.

When you place your order, the amount is calculated with the rate at that moment, and that rate is saved with your order. The amount of your order does not change after that, even when the rate changes. If you later change your order (for example, change the quantity), the rate saved with the order is used.

If the rate is updated while you are on the checkout page (around 2:00 AM JST), your order may not be placed because the amount no longer matches the amount shown. In that case, reload the checkout page, check the updated amount, and place your order again.

• Credit card: you are charged the order amount in your account currency. If your card is billed in a different currency, your card issuer converts the amount at its own rate and may charge a foreign transaction fee. For details, please contact your card issuer.
• Bank transfer: please transfer the amount in your currency shown in the order confirmation email. For the details, see Paying for Your Order.
• Refunds: card payments are refunded in the currency you were charged in. The amount you receive on your card statement may differ slightly because of your card issuer's exchange rate.

ApparelX Points are held in your account currency. If you change your account currency, your points are converted into the new currency at the latest rate. For more about points, see ApparelX Points and Coupons.
