Hello.
This is Ozaki from the ApparelX trend blog.
Today, we will introduce the textile manufacturer Chambray. Click here for the ApparelX manufacturer page.
The other day, employees from Chambray visited our office and we held a study session about their products.
I would like to share with you some of the things I heard at that time.
This blog introduces Chambray's company profile and products to those in the apparel business who are looking for yarn dyed textile, shirting textile, etc.
Chambray Co., Ltd. is a textile manufacturer established in Ryogoku, Tokyo in 1984.
The company is currently headquartered in Nihonbashi.
We mainly handle woven fabrics for light clothing such as shirts and blouses.
They are particularly skilled in yarn dyed shirting textile. They plan original check and stripe patterns based on their wealth of experience, knowledge and information, as well as archives from around the world.
We are a manufacturer with warehouses both in Japan and overseas that stock and sell a wide variety of carefully selected textile.
Chambray is available in a wide variety of textile, but there are three fabric brands in particular.
The first is THE STATES MADE®.
This series analyzes and reproduces shirts and other items produced in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s.
The analysis is very detailed, using modern technology to examine the thickness, shape, and number of thread used.
In particular, according to employees, shirts made in America at that time even had a different number of stitches compared to modern Japanese shirts, and they are planning to use textile with great care to reproduce even these small details.
Not only the shirt, but the textile was analyzed from American seersucker pants from the 1990s, and it is said that the material and structure of the ribbed parts are different from those of modern times, so they went to great lengths to reproduce even these details.
Personally, I was impressed by the planning ability that went into meticulously analyzing and recreating such history and background.
REFABRISH® is a combination of the words Refurbish, which means to renew or polish something, and Fabric.
This series is made from recycled polyester, an environmentally friendly material.
However, it is not just made from recycled materials; the thread is developed with a particular ratio of recycled polyester and cotton, making the most of the best of both materials, making this a series that is full of appealing textile.
The lineup also includes trendy checked and striped materials unique to chambray, making this a recommended series that combines environmental friendliness with stylish design.
Orgamix™ is a series made from 100% organic cotton top thread spun in subtle colors.
The fabrics are characterised by the softness that only top thread can provide, and textile has an attractive natural colour.
It has also passed GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification, which is also a sustainable material that takes into consideration the environmental impact and labor of farmers.
I actually touched the textile and it felt very soft and gentle.
This series has different characteristics from other series, and you can also feel Chambray's attention to detail.
1SG014 1990s American cotton twill
This is a standard material among the aforementioned THE STATES MADE products. This textile was reproduced by analyzing shirts produced in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s.
Made from American cotton, it has a unique dry texture. As it is a slightly thick twill, it can be used for a wide range of purposes, not just shirts but also jackets.
1SG019 American Cotton seersucker
This textile is also a reproduction of seersucker pants produced in the United States in the 1990s.This is a carefully crafted material that faithfully reproduces not only the thickness of the thread and the number of threads, but also the material and weave of the ridges.
There is a wide range of colors available, and it's exciting to think that items from that time can be reproduced in a variety of colors.
1SG017 Cotton Recycled Polyester lawn
The fabric is made from yarn that is a mix of thread sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative and recycled polyester made from PET bottles.
Rather than simply mixing the ingredients, the ratio of materials was carefully developed to create a light, quick-drying textile.
This is a standard material for shirts and blouses that is wrinkle-resistant and easy to care for.
4SG023 Recycled Polyester Ombre Plaid
This textile using a mixture of recycled polyester and rayon thread .
When you actually touch it, you can feel the soft and smooth texture due to the use of rayon, which makes it a different material from cotton blends.
Of course, it's not just the texture that's appealing, the original check pattern is also appealing.
Ombre check is strongly associated with youth culture, such as bands and skaters, but this pattern has relatively subdued colors and could be used to create elegant items.
1SG031 Organic Cotton Light Denim
textile made using organic cotton top thread in original colors.
The melange colour gives the impression of fading denim.
It looks like light denim, but when you touch it it feels very soft and comfortable to wear, giving it a different appeal than denim.
Not only light denim colors, but also brown and gray are atmospheric colors and are recommended.
Thank you for reading to the end.
