Are you all sensitive to trends? Every year there are new trends, and in the limited time available, it is very difficult to quickly catch them, predict what will sell, and think through product planning.
What I’d like to introduce this time is silk.
It doesn’t have trendy elements like sheerness, sparkle, or a crisp texture, though... (laugh)
The reason I’m introducing silk is simply because I think it is a beautiful and luxurious material.
Please see this blog for a more detailed explanation.

The street-inspired flow that has continued in recent years seems to be changing quite a bit for Spring/Summer 2020, and in a word, I think a healthy mood is becoming the trend.
“Healthy” may not be the right word, but perhaps a serious sense of aesthetics, or a wholesome kind of beauty...
The fact that environmental issues are also attracting attention and that sustainability is being highlighted so much may be related as well.
It may just be a feeling, but I sense that each maison brand is creating with greater awareness of its brand value, aesthetic sensibility, and social responsibility.
Silk is expensive, and it is by no means easy to care for, but to use menswear as an example, a wrinkle-free cotton-poly shirt that doesn’t need ironing may look less dressy from a distance than a slightly wrinkled 200-count Sea Island cotton shirt.
I think silk is something whose beauty can be appreciated in any era.
I hope you will take this opportunity to experience its qualities once again.
