The word BOA apparently comes from the Latin word for "snake."
Originally, it was made from curled sheep wool or other fur, but now, due to cost and SDG considerations, fur boas are uncommon. Boas are usually made by knitting pile on a base fabric and then cutting the tips of the pile. Some BOA is made mainly from wool to achieve the warmth and natural feel of fur, while other BOA is made mainly from polyester for functionality and lightness.
It is difficult to find Boa suitable for commercial use, but at ApparelX, we have a lineup of Boa from Takisada Nagoya.
Here are some different types.
1032350 Vintage Sheep Boa

Neither too thick nor too thin, this faux shearling material has just the right thickness and pile length. It is reasonably priced and comes in a variety of colors. This is a classic item.
1095150 Wool Sheep Boa

The warmth of wool itself and the voluminous Boa make this material very special. It is also very plush. The surface is made entirely of wool rather than being knitted with pile yarn, which gives it the look of a real sheep. Another feature of this product is that the base fabric is made from 100% recycled polyester, making it an eco-friendly and authentic boa material.
10792501/15 re:newool® boa knit

This BOA knit is part of the RE:NEWOOL® series, a sustainable material produced by Takisada Nagoya. Because it is a knitted material, it has stretch and the perfect length and thickness, making it suitable for both outerwear and mid-layers. I think it is very thorough that recycled materials other than wool are used. When we talked about it at a joint exhibition, it was very well received because it is eco-friendly, stylish, and versatile in terms of texture.
Recycling and eco-friendliness are becoming the norm in the fashion industry, and Takisada Nagoya's RE:NEWOOL® is a series of fabrics made from recycled wool. Here is a brief description of the range.

This is a wool-blend product produced in Oshu, with stable physical properties. https://renewool.com/about/ As a reference, we saw a photo of a row of raw materials being processed into wool, which was very impressive. In the case of recycled clothing, each color has its own original hue, so each color has to be processed, creating new colors by combining several raw materials of different colors. In the past, most recycled wool was made into hard tweed, perhaps because of the nature of recycled wool.
